Choosing the Experienced background gives you a +1 starting skill point and Far-Sighted gives you greater ranged damage and sight at the expense of some melee accuracy (may cause your dagger to miss). ![]() That being said, I have provided here a basic all-rounder build that works well both online or in single player. If you're playing online and prefer a sniper role, you may consider investing into Archery first. Max Acrobatics / +DEX (bow) / +STR (dagger)Īs a rogue, you have many options for how you want to build yourself.You can max out Holy which basically gives you a type of Death Protection (you can only die if your hp hits 0 and you get hit a second time without healing) or you could choose to invest in a bit more strength/vitality if you need it. Where you go from here is entirely up to you and your situation. At maxed Defense you will have a chance to automatically block physical attacks that strike you. Lv4 Defense essentially gives you reflect damage if you time it correctly. Lv1 Defense opens up the ability to block physical attacks. Your next move should be to max out Defense. It's a really nice boost as you never have to worry about taking fall damage from this point forward. At Lv1, this skill prevents all fall damage. Once you max out Sword, you should next put a single point into the Holy skill. At maxed Sword your attacks with a sword will be as fast as a Rogue's dagger (note: Dragon Slayer type swords will receive a significant speed boost but will not be as fast as any other type of sword). This greatly increases your combat ability as it allows you to strike in virtually any direction an enemy is coming from. If you take the Experienced background, you'll have Lv2 Sword by Dark Caves 2. The final slot of each build has multiple options to choose from indicated by forward slashes -> (x / y / z).įirst and foremost you should max out your Sword skill. Each build includes a skill point allocation order to follow as you level up. Stealth does come into play with a monster's ability to detect the player.I haven't seen any skill builds posted since the most recent update so I figured I'd post a few of my builds that I use for each class along with a brief explanation of each. Bosses will glow so the player can't accidentally run into them. Bosses can be triggered in different ways, but this is usually done by coming into close proximity with them. Each monster has its own set of abilities. There are multiple zones in the game with their own set of monsters and bosses. Certain items, such as potions, can be combined using unlocked skills to create new items. This may be dangerous since items can be cursed and potions can be harmful. The player can use identify scrolls or simply use the unidentified item to learn what it is as well as stats. This includes potions and scrolls which have randomized colors every run. Various items will be found along the way, this includes clothing, armor, rings, talismans, weapons, potions, scrolls, and spells. It is possible to steal from the shopkeeper but they will fight back if you are spotted. There is a shopkeeper located somewhere on the map in every level. There is also a currency in the game which can be used with shopkeepers. Upgrading abilities often leads to a secondary effect such as the ability to use stealth or directional combat. With enough experience the character may be levelled up, in which the player may choose to increase a stat or ability. The player can further customize a character through attributes unlocked through challenges.ĭefeating monsters and bosses will accrue experience for the character. Vagante features multiple classes which differ in starting equipment as well as skill availability. In Vagante, the player character sets out in a series of dungeons in order to find an "unfathomable treasure." Along the way the player will defeat monsters and various bosses in randomized levels. These are later used to unlock new classes of characters. The game also utilizes a permanent death system and keeps track of player deaths as well as any completed challenges. This includes the ability to unlock classes, equip your character, and a level up system. ![]() Vagante is a platforming game which contains RPG and rogue-like elements. ![]()
